FlashClass Teacher Agreement
What a teacher accepts before setting up a classroom: the COPPA school-consent attestation, the data processing and FERPA summary, and the educator terms. This is the agreement in force for teachers who sign up directly, without a district.

About this agreement
This agreement is between you (the educator, on behalf of your school or institution) and FlashMath LLC, a subsidiary of HFIG Technologies. FlashClass is used to deliver math instruction and monitor student progress. Please review and accept the sections below before setting up your classroom.
COPPA school-consent attestation
Under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), a school may consent to the collection of students' personal information on behalf of parents when it is used solely for an educational purpose. By accepting, you attest that you are authorized to provide that consent for the students you enroll in FlashClass.
- You are a teacher or administrator acting within the authority of your school or institution.
- For any student under 13, your school authorizes you to provide COPPA consent on parents’ behalf for educational use, or you have obtained verifiable parental consent directly.
- You will enroll only students you are responsible for, and use FlashClass solely for instruction and progress monitoring.
- Student accounts you create are for classroom use only; you will not collect more personal information than is necessary for that purpose.
- For students who self-join with a class code, you confirm they are 13 or older or covered by your school’s consent.
Accepted by: I am authorized to provide COPPA school consent for the students I enroll.
Data Processing Agreement (DPA) & FERPA
FlashMath LLC processes student data only to provide the FlashClass service to your school. Your school remains the owner and controller of student education records; FlashMath LLC acts as a processor and as a "school official" with a legitimate educational interest under FERPA.
- Ownership: student records (rosters, practice results, assignments, progress) belong to your school. We process them only on your instruction.
- Use limits: student data is never sold, never used for advertising, and never used to train AI models. It is used only to operate FlashClass.
- Sub-processors: our hosting provider; our email relay, which delivers account emails and any class summary you ask for; Stripe, for your teacher billing only (Stripe never gives us your full card number); and, when you use an AI tool for teachers — a class progress digest, generated practice problems or the voice assistant — the AI providers Anthropic and OpenAI, which receive what that request needs, including the student names you entered and their practice results for a digest or a voice question. All are under confidentiality and security obligations.
- Retention & deletion: removing a student from your class ends their access to it; their account and practice history are kept, and FlashClass does not delete student data just because you stop using it. You can delete a student's data at a parent's or guardian's request; it runs after a hold, currently 24 hours, during which you can cancel it. A parent or guardian can also ask through the public form at flashclass.edu.flashmath.io/data-deletion: the request comes to you to confirm that they are the child's parent or guardian and which student is theirs, and nothing is deleted until you confirm. A parent's request has a deadline no later than 30 days after it is received; you are reminded on days 7 and 14, and our support staff are alerted on day 21 if it is still waiting. You can close your account from your account page: after a grace period, currently 14 days, during which you can cancel and download your class data, your classes and their records, the student accounts you created that no other teacher's class uses, and your account are deleted, and you receive a completion record. Closing a FlashClass Pro account stops the subscription from renewing; your account closes when the paid period ends. Billing/transaction records may be retained as required by law.
- Security: data is encrypted in transit and access-controlled. Any breach affecting student data will be reported to your school without undue delay.
- FERPA: under the school-official exception, we will not re-disclose education records except as you direct or as required by law.
Accepted by: I have read and agree to the Data Processing Agreement on behalf of my school.
Educator terms of use
The teacher-specific terms that govern your use of FlashClass, in addition to the standard FlashMath LLC Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of your roster and for distributing student credentials (usernames/passwords) securely.
- You will not use FlashClass to collect sensitive categories of data beyond what the product requests.
- FlashClass Pro is a flat monthly or annual teacher subscription, processed by Stripe, including up to 40 student seats. Nothing is billed per student: on any plan, enrolling more students than your plan includes is refused, never charged as an extra.
- You will keep your educator account secure and notify us of any unauthorized use.
Accepted by: I agree to the FlashClass Educator Terms and the FlashEDU Student Data Privacy Agreement.
